Haaaay Hi! lovely Libra Season (and happy one-year anniversary to this monthly style guide)! Ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, abundance, pleasure and self-love, Libra energy is harmonious, charismatic, social, whimsical, communicative, fair and flirty! As a cardinal sign, Libra also guides us into the season of fall and the last quarter of the year while giving us the spark of energy needed to power through the rest of the year with enthusiasm, hope and joy.

As a sign represented by the scales, Libra energy is all about balance, harmony and justice and as such, Libras have a natural talent and drive towards diplomacy, building and maintaining community as well as bridge-building. Additionally, because Libra is an air sign, they are highly curious, intellectual and require constant stimulation by way of socialization, problem-solving, entertainment and even gossip. And because Libra has that pleasurable Venusian flavor, Libras also consume and process art at high speeds and are thus well-versed and up to date with all things art, music in particular from my own observations.

These fun-loving and compassionate beings also have a heavy Saturnian influence as Saturn is exalted in the sign of Libra which, to be honest, confused me for a long time but has recently begun to make more and more sense.

In the tarot, the sign of Libra corresponds to the Justice card which has a bit of a harshness to it that I originally thought was uncharacteristic of Libra until I discovered Libra’s Saturn exaltation and then, it all clicked! In order to exact justice, you have to have the ability to look at things objectively and most of the time that is easier said than done but that Saturnian influence gives Libras a distinct ability to be objective while maintaining compassion. This level of discernment is what gives Libras the capacity to be so diplomatic and strategic while their Venusian quality sugarcoats that razor-sharp edge with a graciousness that is characteristic of dear Libra. These energies manifest into Libras color associations of pink (softness and self-love) and lavender (compassion and sensitivity) as well as pastel colors of all variations.

Given Libras’ color correspondences as well as their characteristics and qualities, I have determined the colors and prints that best express Libras’ whimsical yet exacting nature. So whether you have prominent Libra placements or just have a desire to align yourself with the zodiacal energies of the year, the following options can serve as tools for embodiment as well as a physical hug (because these fabrics do in fact hug you) from tender Libra that can uplift and support us through this benevolent season.

Salt

Ruled by Venus, the planet of experiencing pleasure through the senses, and flavor being one of those senses, I find it incredibly satisfying that this shade of pink that is symbolic of self-love, also adds some literal flavor to this season. Historically, pure salt itself has also been used for protection, cleansing and purification. Himalayan mineral salt even has similar properties to rose quartz and can promote self-love and can even help catalyze taking action on the self-love front.

Lavender

As a sign that corresponds to pastel shades, none is lovelier than that of lavender. As a color lavender symbolizes compassion and sensitivity, both of which are prominent energies at play within Libra’s loving realm.

Lychee

As a color, hot pink is representative of self-respect and flirtatiousness and as such, it is a perfect addition to this Libra lineup! Libras’ social and loving nature makes them natural flirts but not just with other people but experiences too since they’re up for anything and will try anything (at least) once!

Mango

As an air sign, Libra also associates with the color yellow which has traditionally corresponded to the element of air. And since Libra also has an affinity for yummy things, sweet and juicy mango is a whole snack, just like our scrumptious Libras!

Fauna

I’ve always referred to Libras as the faeries of the zodiac because of their ethereal qualities as well as the fact that they are ruled by the element of air (helloooo wings!) and as the whimsical faeries that they are, no print expresses this better than Fauna. Transport yourself to an enchanted forest and find your faerie family in this stunning print!

Amalfi

Represented by the scales, the sign of Libra is all about balance and the combination of bold red and electric turquoise is definitely a balancing act. A gorgeous balancing act! And this balancing act is a testament to Libras’ unique ability to be objective and make informed decisions in which certain outcomes may not have been thought of before, like this mesmerizing print!

As a Venus-ruled being myself (quadruple Taurus), Libra season is one of my favorites, as its focal points are pleasure and socialization and after the discipline and recalibration that Virgo season brought, Libra season is coming at us like a kiss of a cool autumn breeze. May this season bless us with the grace and compassion it takes to be effective communicators. May this season guide us along the path of just benevolence and teach us how to maintain the balance between empathy and objective discernment. May this season bring clarity to our sense of self within our communities both chosen and unchosen. And may this season allow us to be able to prioritize self-love and discover all of the ways in which we can initiate those actions for ourselves. So It Is.
