For August we are highlighting Coco Shin as our Wolf of the Month. She embodies the spirit of the ocean and spreads awareness for sustainability while offering serenity through her yoga.

Where are you from, where do you live, and what do you do?

I’m originally from Los Angeles, California, and now I’m based in Berlin, though currently I am traveling in the US. At the end of July 2021, I left my job as an out-of-school-time youth trainer to be a full-time content creator and influencer. I love to make content about vegan and sustainable lifestyle on my Youtube and TikTok accounts to show others how awesome and easy eco-friendly living can be. I have also learned to take more civic action on environmental and social justice issues and I seek to educate and inspire others to take action on changes they want to see in the world.

What’s the best part about being a Wolven Ambassador for you?

I love talking about Wolven pieces and showing people that eco-friendly clothing can be wearable art while being incredibly comfortable and practical.  Wearing such innovative clothing made from recycled materials makes me feel like I’m from a really cool corner of the future.

What is your favorite print and/or style?

Everyone probably says this, but it’s really hard to pick a favorite print! I love the badass vibes of Raina, the way Harmony emphasizes my curves, and the wearability and dopeness of Aquarius. As for cuts, the flares with any of the 4-way tops are my favorite.

How does wearing Wolven make you feel?

Like a Bad Boss Babe! Honestly though, my Wolvens inspire me to be a version of myself that I love: she is active and ready for anything, expresses herself fearlessly, and most importantly, lives her values by choosing sustainably and ethically produced clothing.

When or where do you feel most connected to nature?

I love going on long day hikes. I recently hiked Old Rag Mountain in Virginia and I got to scramble up rocks to a beautiful peak. There is something about feeling the rocks beneath my feet and smelling the leaves and dirt in the air while my heart is pumping that makes me feel like I am in exactly the right place.

What inspires you?

I have a niece who is three and a half years old. In 2050 she will be about my age and I want to ensure that the world she lives in at that time is just as beautiful, abundant, and full of life and color than the world we live in today (if not more!). She inspires me to take action on environmental issues so that in the future I can tell her that I did everything I could to make sure she had a healthy environment to grow up in and clean world to explore. I am also inspired by myself at 70 years old who is healthy and in great shape and expresses herself at every opportunity. She tells me to take good care of myself today and to always be myself.

How do you envision the future of our world?

If things go well, we will have come together to create policy that protects the environment and human rights while innovations in sustainable tech keep us on the cutting edge. In order to stay sustainable as well as tap into our human nature, people will learn to connect with their environments, communities, and themselves on a deeper level. Life isn’t about physical things, but slow living with attention paid to the simple but essential aspects such as spending time with your loved ones or making things (meals, crafts, etc.) with your hands.

How do you create your content?

Every video is different, so the shooting process varies. Sometimes I have a very specific idea of what I want, and other times I just let it flow spontaneously. I shoot videos on my phone and/or my vlogging camera, depending on the kind of video I am making. Then I edit it on my computer (or my phone for some TikToks) and upload! I make almost everything completely on my own, though I hope one day I can work with a team of other creators.

Why should people join the Wolfpack?

The Wolfpack is a community centered on sustainability. Every single way to incorporate community and sustainability in your life is an opportunity to introduce new habits and influences into your day-to-day experience. Change your habits - change your life - change the world!

What does sustainability mean to you?

Sustainability means taking care of the Earth and all of the beings that live on it so that we can have a continuous peaceful existence.
