Come along with us backstage to meet SOHMI, the next addition to your house collection. We talked sustainability on the road, girl power, and dove deep into what inspires her to create new music each day. Keep reading to find out more!

What inspires you to create music the most?

Honestly, life experiences. The really personal experiences. The everyday things we all go through. Whether it’s that beginning part of a relationship where you're just starting to fall in love or the very painful part where you could just tell it was going to end. Every song I make I love to try and capture the sound of that experience.

How do you see music evolving throughout the pandemic in today’s society?

Music really has kept us sane and connected. I was able to connect with DJs even in other countries through the excuse of music. For me it kept me really connected to everything, I don’t know what I would’ve done without it.

What’s been your most memorable performance?

I might have to say it was coming back to shows after an 18-month hiatus. I got to play in Arizona with Chris Lake for my first big show. There was that overwhelming sense of gratitude in the air amongst the crowd. We even got emotional on stage. I almost forgot life was even like that before.

Where do you like to play shows the most?

I’m probably biased but I have to say Sound NightClub. They really were there for me when I was breaking into the industry. My residency there is what allowed me to grow into the artist I am today. There’s something for me about a smaller venue because it’s that magical size - small enough to feel intimate, but also a large enough venue to have a good time.

Top artist you want to collab with?

Since I have a vocal background in pop. I’d honestly love to make a pop track with Calvin Harris.

Where do you get inspiration for your style and vibe?

When I go thrifting I just find random treasures. My style really is all about what I like at the moment. I can always tell by looking at something if I want to add it to my collection.

What do you love most about all the up and coming female artist scene?

I love all the women kicking ass in music! I’m South Korean and I find a lot of inspiration to continue my work as a DJ through all the badass South Asian women in the industry.

What are some things you do to stay sustainable on the road?

You know, it's something over the last few years I’ve definitely been more aware and active about. There are so many things that definitely made it become more evident that our planet needs more love. Thrifting is something I’m getting into in a way to support sustainability. I’m able to find something I really like that will be in my closet for a long time instead of buying into fast fashion. Some of my favorite looks for shows are thrift store finds.

How can the #Wolfpack find your music?

Anywhere you can stream! Spotify, apple music, youtube… I’m on them all.
