Every girl needs her Wolven Threads to survive this festival season, but no outfit is complete without all your festival essentials. This Festy Friday Wolven Threads brings you a sustainable festival survival guide that will make your next festival experience a great one. Here are ten important festival items you should never leave home without.

1. Vegan Power Shake & Bars

These on-the-go power shakes and bars are the perfect festival foods. They provide you with a natural source of energy keeping you full for long periods of time throughout the day. Not only do they keep excess waste out of our ecosystem but they are vegan, dairy, and soy free. There are many vegan and Non-GMO variates available now, but some we suggest for shakes are Purium Power Shake and for bars are Lara Bars

2.  Non-toxic Bug Spray

This all natural bug spray might be bad for bugs, but it is oh so good for you. It is perfect for preventing mosquitoes and other small insects from biting and irritating your skin, while a natural aroma of essential oils keep you smelling good all day.  Here is how to make it. In a small fine mist spray bottle, you want to mix four drops of citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, eucalyptus, and mint essential oils. After you have mixed those, add in 1/4 of pure witch hazel, shake well and apply.

3. Vibedration Water Pack

Staying hydrated during festival season is vital. The best way to do this is to invest in a Vibedration water pack. This pack has padded back, chest, and neck supports for comfort and stability and is easy to fill. Simply remove the water bladder from the pack, attach the water straw, and fill with water. Not only do you have a reusable pack that conveniently keeps you hydrated all day, but you are keeping plastic bottle waste out of our ecosystem.

4. Eco- Friendly Sunscreen

Another non-toxic essential on any festival trip is sunscreen. Protecting your skin from the sun is not only important, but it can save you from sun damage many years down the road. Here is how to make an eco-friendly sunscreen that the planet and your skin will love. First, start by melting 3oz of coconut oil in a small saucepan. Once melted take off the burner and transfer your coconut oil into the freezer for five minutes to thicken it up a little. After five minutes, remove the coconut oil and slowly whisk in two tablespoons of Zinc Oxide. Once the Zinc Oxide has mixed in, add in 15 drops of lavender essential oil, and 20 drops of carrots seed oil.

5. Biodegradable Glitter by @bioglitz

This plant based glitter is not only good for glamming up your next festival look, but it is also good for the planet. In fact, this glitter is biodegradable, compostable, and cruelty-free. It is perfect for body shimmer, eyeshadow, and glitter roots making any makeup or hairstyle eco-friendly and unforgettable. Remember to bring a little bit of coconut oil or Vaseline to apply the glitter onto your body naturally. BioGlitz will allow you to reapply throughout the day if necessary.

6. 30 Second Pop Up Tent

The title says it all. This tent will make your next festival the most enjoyable one yet. With poles that are pre-attached to the tent and all you have to do is unfold and extend. Now you have a secure campsite that can be built and taken apart quickly. When you are exhausted after a weekend of dancing this festival season and have to pack up your campsite and go home this tent will be a life saver.

7. Mini Tempurpedic Pillow

This survival guide essential will put all your festival worries to rest. Bringing a mini Tempurpedic pillow is not only good for you but also saves on the space a standard size pillow would take up. Carry this pillow in a backpack or inside a recycled wooden crate that you might use as a table.

8. LED Headlamp

When the festival lights go down, and you need to finish setting up part of a tent or get dinner ready, a LED headlamp is your best friend. This survival essential will help you tremendously this festival season. LED headlamps are great because they free up both of your hands, making it easy to provide light to yourself or others while setting up your campsite.

9. Sunglasses by @mywillows

This unique sunglass line features sunglasses that are worn in an untraditional way. Removing all the side temples from the glasses and adding leather, chains, and crystals My Willows creates multi-purposeful sunglasses that can be worn as a necklace, earrings or even a back necklace. These sunglasses are the perfect way to protect your eyes from the sun and glam up your festival wardrobe.

10. Mini First Aid Kit

This is an oldie but goodie in our book. You can never go wrong with having a mini first aid kit around. This comes in handy when someone gets a small splinter, cut, scrape and headache.

Now that you have your sustainable survival guide you can take on the festival season with your best foot forward. The goal this season is to leave behind a smaller ecological footprint and always being prepared. Tag us @wolventhreads and show us how you are staying eco-friendly and protected this festival season. We can't wait to see!
