Happy new astrological year, babes! If you didn’t know, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it corresponds to the Spring Equinox as well as the beginning of the season of Spring! Fun fact, ancient Babylon marked the beginning of the Spring as the new year, and to be honest, I much prefer celebrating a new year in alignment with the start of Spring than in the dead of winter, but maybe that’s just me! Anyway, Aries is a cardinal fire sign that is ruled by Mars which makes it initiatory, bold, assertive, dominant, passionate, and even a bit impulsive.

As the first and therefore ‘youngest’ sign of the zodiac, there is a child-like wonder, curiosity and naivety to Aries that is quite charming. It’s the type of exuberant energy you get when you get the first spark of an idea before you’ve let reality take hold and let it infiltrate your ambition with doubts or fears which is why Aries energy is very, “act now, think later.” My mom is a quadruple Aries so I grew up with the blueprint of this energy and observed it in action every single day by way of her being the most generous, ambitious, multi-tasking busy body ever.

Aries’ stereotype is one of recklessness and self-involvement but when balanced and aligned, as a good leader should be, there is no sign more selfless and willing to help you shoulder your burdens. As with all warriors, there is a distinct capacity for self-sacrifice. It’s just a matter of self-sacrificing for a worthy cause and not getting carried away by impulses or getting distracted or discouraged by the inevitable bumps in the road.

In the tarot, Aries corresponds to The Emperor card. Being the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is first and foremost a leader, but with all of these themes of ambition and pursuit, Aries must remember to stay grounded and not get ahead of themselves and forget their purpose. The Emperor is a king and anyone in a position of power and influence needs to be methodical and pragmatic which can be a challenge for impatient Aries. What is important to remember here is vision and knowing that anything worth working for cannot be rushed and must happen in its own time.

All of these characteristics manifest through Aries’ color correspondences of: red (ambition, leadership), orange (creativity, exuberance), hot pink (flirtatiousness, self-respect), and black (power, authority). Given all of these factors, I have deduced the colors and prints that will support us as we activate this potent energy and start the new energetic year with a BANG!

Cayenne

Nothing says Aries season quite like a bold set in its Martian color correspondence of Red. Aries’ have a natural confidence which allows them to be bold and sexy while being unapologetic about it. We should all strive for this level of self-assuredness and this set is the perfect way to perpetuate this particular flavor of embodiment.

Tangerine

As a sign that has so much to do with identity and the Self, it should be no surprise that the Sun is exalted in this sign. Being the center of our solar system, the Sun is all about our identity at face value, which is actually why our Sun signs are deemed as the most important because it is an identification of character. And what color is the Sun? Orange! So put this on to experience what it’s like to be a gravitational force!

Lychee

Because fire signs have a natural confidence and playfulness to them, they are all a little bit flirty and the color hot pink represents flirtatiousness. Don’t be fooled though, hot pink also represents self-respect so if you find yourself being flirted with by a fire sign, particularly Aries which has such a strong sense of self, you have been blessed and deemed worthy of their energy!

Onyx

Despite Aries’ bold and dynamic characteristics, there is a simplicity about them, especially when it comes to style. Because Aries’ is the first sign of the zodiac and their identity is so apparent, there is a “no muss, no fuss” type of attitude that generally gives them an affinity for classic style and nothing is more classic than an all-black outfit. It’s the little black dress of movement apparel!

Shakti

With such prominent themes of confidence and friskiness, it is only natural that this provocative print is included in this round-up. Shakti is the Hindu goddess that represents the primordial cosmic energy responsible for both creation and destruction, reminding us of the duality of all things. She represents dynamic feminine energy in its totality and empowers us to express our sexuality and release any shame we may have unintentionally internalized.

Fractal

Housing most of Aries’ martial and solar color associations of red, orange, and hot pink this mesmerizing print is full of energy and charisma. These dazzling and vibrant spring colors are a welcome refresher from the more subtle tones of both Pisces season and the season of winter. Allow this print to energize you as you arise from your winter slumber.

May this season give us a fresh start. May this season supercharge us with the energy and passion needed to initiate the work it will take to conquer our goals. May this season spark sustained confidence and sense of Self. May this season catalyze the ability to break down barriers so that we may venture outside of our comfort zones. May this season allow us to embody our inner pioneer as we allow ourselves to be guided by our own curiosity, wonder, and sense of awe. And finally, may this season gift us a blessed kick-off to the new year! So It Is.
