It’s Aquarius season, and what better way to bring this time of year in with a little bit of background on it. Ever wonder what Aquarius is all about? Yeah, me too, so I went ahead and did all of the research for you.  As a non-horoscope girl, it felt like the right time to learn more about the season about unconventional growth and freeing yourself from restrictions. I have all the things you need to know. They told me this could go really well or poorly. Go easy on me okay.

Basics of Aquarius

Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign in the zodiac, falling between January 20th - February 18th. It’s associated with the constellation Aquarius (the one that looks like an aardvark with a really long tail). Now, if you’re born under this sign, you are believed to be independent, unconventional, and intellectual. You’re also said to be forward-thinking and open-minded, and are often associated with humanitarian causes and social justice (hi Aquarius queen Oprah Winfrey). Our sustainability manager, Amanda, who devotes a large chunk of her work to environmental justice, is  in fact an Aquarius. I feel like this is starting to click.

Qualities of Aquarius

Aquarians are known for their strong sense of individuality and their desire for freedom and independence. Think: the change makers.  They are often considered to be non-conformists and can be quite rebellious, as they are not afraid to challenge authority or traditional values (Harry Styles for example – also an Aquarius). Aquarians are also known for their creativity and their ability to think outside of the box. As a Cancer, this is making me want to be an Aquarius for the day. Do Aquarians cry as much as Cancer’s do?

Aquarius in Relationships

In relationships, Aquarians can be fiercely loyal and supportive, but they also value their own freedom and need plenty of space to be themselves. I am raising my hand as I type. They can sometimes be perceived as uninterested, but this is often just because they are deep thinkers swirling through their thoughts and feelings. If you’re wondering which sign Aquarius is most compatible with – its fire sign Sagittarius. We can get into Sagittarius another time.

To Sum It Up

Overall, Aquarians are intelligent, independent, and unconventional people who are always looking for new ways to make a positive impact on the world. Now that I hope you know a little bit more about Aquarius (I sure do), go throw on your Aquarius set and take on the day.
